Fitness & Nutrition Tips



 

  • DO NOT take the all or nothing approach. Ten minute bursts of exercise throughout the day provide health benefits;

  • DO NOT be afraid of weight training if you are a woman. You will not bulk up; you will sculpt

  • DO concentrate on the muscle you are exercising. It is a mind/body connection;

  • DO take the stairs rather than the the elevator;

  • DO park at the end of parking lot and walk the few extra steps to the store;

  • Do stretch often and anywhere;

  • DO walk the dog;

  • DO take time out to enjoy something active;

 

 


DO eat breakfast;
DO drink plenty of water throughout the day;
DO enjoy your food and eat slow;
DO pack healthy snacks for work or a day out;
DO NOT eat processed foods;
DO NOT eat foods made of white flour;
DO NOT eat fried foods;
DO eat foods with healthy polyunsaturated and unsaturated fats ie. salmon, nuts (unsalted), flax;
DO eat every 3 -4 hours to keep the metabolism furnace burning;
DO try a new fruit or vegetable each time you get groceries;
DO keep track of what you eat in a food journal; and
Remember to preimeter shop the grocery store first as the aisles are where the unnecessary, processed foods lurk!
